here I am again

Here I am again
It’s dark and cold
A freezing rain falls like arrows of ice
All the beauty, shining
colors seem to melt into
rainy puddles of dark
oil rainbows gathering
by my feet
Here I am again
Looking for the light
seemingly fading

here I am again
I’m shivering and bitter
Coldness spears out like frozen porcupine quills
Little dots of colored light blend
together in the distance
seeming to point back to home, warmth
the darkness has surrounded for so long
here I am again
Stumbling through cold
Toward hope

Here I am again
Glow shines through stained glass, warming stained soul
Warmth wraps around like a pastel sweater
Sacred memory
a Father’s hug
the dark has no place here
Here I am again.
